Digital Signs

Digital signs are located throughout the Indiana University Bloomington campus. Some are managed centrally, by UITS/UCM, and others are managed at the College or department level. The content on this page is focused on digital signs located in College of Arts and Sciences buildings. The College plans to increase the number of digital signs throughout our buildings. This initiative will allow us to enhance the College's visibility on campus and provide space to promote department and program activities, opportunities, and key messages.

The College Office of Marketing and Communications serves as the primary manager of content playlists for new digital signs to ensure quality, accessibility, and brand cohesion. For pre-existing digital signs (prior to January 2026), our office will collaborate with department partners on digital sign playlists. 

Once digital signs are located throughout all College buildings, signs will focus on the departments or programs within each building, along with College-centered messages. For interdisciplinary content, our Marketing and Communications office will determine appropriate placement on additional screens. Until we have digital signs in all College buildings, departments or programs in buildings without signs may request signs for placement elsewhere. We will determine the appropriate building locations based on the sign's content and the audience.

Please review and follow these guidelines when making a digital sign request:

• We require two weeks notice for a digital sign request. (Two weeks prior to the launch of the sign.) We prefer additional lead time.
• Signs must have at least a 7 day run time. This means, for example, you should provide three weeks notice for an event digital sign.
• Please do not design a custom sign when making a request to our team. Our office will create the sign for you using the information you submit in your form. 
• Digital signs should promote signature events, brand messages, or other opportunities. For example, a new major or minor; a lecture for a broad audience; callouts for conversation clubs or info sessions; funding deadlines.
• No more than 2 digital signs per department or program may play at the same time. This helps to avoid overcrowding digital signs and ensures students will view timely and important messages.
• Our office will produce a maximum limit of 4 digital signs per semester per department or program. Please plan and prioritize your most important messages.
• Signs may require more time to be created and added to a playlist during holiday breaks, including Spring Break and the Winter Break.
