Biography
Allyn is an IU staff member and independent artist. They have been in the role of Operations and Programming Coordinator at the College Arts + Humanities Institute since February of 2024 while exploring potential for graduate study as a non-degree student. Their interests in the humanities and social sciences intersect with social justice, class politics, queerness, and gender. They look forward to developing relationships across the College and learning more about the processes of DEIJ work through their involvement with DIAAC.
Allyn grew up in southern California and holds bachelor’s degrees in Studio Art and Psychology from San Diego State University. After pursuing creative projects in the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland, Oregon, they moved to Bloomington in 2020. Allyn operates a small studio downtown and was awarded an Emerging Artist Grant by the City of Bloomington Arts Commission in 2023 to support their ongoing painting practice.
