Biography
Rob Loveless is a Senior Lecturer at Indiana University, where he teaches courses on American Sign Language and Deaf culture. Prior to joining IU, Rob taught at a couple of Interpreter Training Programs and is trained as a Deaf Interpreter himself. He has worked to design curricula as a Systems Navigator for the Colorado Department of Human Services. In this capacity, he educated private, government, and law enforcement entities to better understand Deaf citizens, while also providing self-advocacy training for the Deaf. During his time in Colorado, Rob served as the President of the Board of Directors at Rocky Mountain Deaf School. Although his primary focus is uplifting Deaf culture through sharing it's rich and unique language, Rob aspires to learn and grow and does his best to create opportunities that enrich a pluralistic society. With the time he has left, Rob creates art through wabi-sabi-inspired sculptures and practices the healing Eastern Traditional Arts he acquired as a former student at the Naropa Institute.
