Biography
Tau Stinger (they/them) is an undergraduate physics student and a high school science teacher at Harmony School in Bloomington, IN. Before transitioning to physics, they earned a BA in an independently designed major, Dance as Spirituality, with concentrations in dance and architecture from Bennington College in 2016. They collaborated in launching an interior decor company partnered with artists in 20+ African countries, worked as a spatial designer, made playfully subversive clothes, and danced in the works of many brilliant movement artists.
As an undergraduate student in their 30s, Tau brings an attunement to issues faced by older students seeking undergraduate education and a passion for amplifying the voices of LGBTQIA+ members of the IU community to DIAAC. They are committed to supporting other underrepresented groups and see their role at DIAAC as a sacred responsibility to steward a more welcoming, inclusive, and empowering culture on campus so that all people can perform to the fullest of their abilities and thrive at IU.
